Romantic Date Ideas For Valentines Day January 18, 2016 13:45
With less than a month until Valentine's Day, you've probably already began thinking about gift ideas for your loved one. It can be difficult to think of unique ideas each year, so we often resort to the old faithful gift of flowers, wine and chocolates. Why not try something different this year, and give your partner a personalised gift that they can treasure forever? Our range of Valentine's gifts can be personalised with a name or date, for a truly romantic gesture.
Don't worry if you haven't bought anything yet - it's not too late to plan something special for your partner. We've come up with this list of romantic date ideas, to help you make this Valentine's Day a date to remember for you both.
Recreate Your First Date
Try recreating your first date with your partner, by visiting the same locations and eating the same foods as you did back when you first met. Stroll past the first apartment you shared together, or go back to the bar where you met as students. A nostalgic look back at your shared history is a great way to strengthen your bonds together as a couple.
Breakfast with Bubbles
Breakfast in Bed is a tried and tested romantic gesture, but why not make it more special on Valentines Day by serving champagne for breakfast. It may seem like a crazy idea to drink alcohol first thing in the morning, but as long as neither of you have to work or drive later on, then why not? Our Drunk in Love personalised wine glasses are ideal.
Place candles around the room, put on some relaxing music, and treat your loved one to a relaxing and sensual massage. It's a great way to bond with your partner as it allows you to focus love and attention to each part of their body. Oils such as ylang ylang, rose and sandalwood are often used for the purpose of romantic massage, as they can increase the body's sexual energy.
Instead of going out for an evening meal, which can be very expensive on Valentine's Day, go out for afternoon coffee instead. Pop down to your local coffee house or cafe, and share a collection of different cakes and sweets; or opt for a traditional cream tea. The atmosphere will be much more relaxed than in a posh restaurant, as you won't have to worry about a formal dress code or what cutlery to use. Or you could recreate this idea at home using our personalised Valentine's Day mugs.
There is nothing more romantic than a picnic with your partner. Of course, at this time of year the weather isn't suitable for sitting outside, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a picnic. Have one indoors instead! Spread a blanket out on the floor, pour some wine, and lay out different plates of food. Sharing plates and bite-sized nibbles work best, and you can even use paper plates so there is no washing up afterwards!
If your partner is out at work, surprise them when they come home by leaving a trail of candles to follow when they enter the house. Have them leading from the front door, all the way up the stairs or along the hallway, to guide them to the surprise you have waiting. It could be a scented bubble-bath or rose petals scattered over the bed. Our Queen of hearts tealight candles are even decorated with love hearts, so are perfect for Valentine's Day.
We have a range of Valentine's Day gifts to suit all tastes, and all of our products can be personalised with a name or initial, date, or a personal message.
